Closing sentence makes a transition to the next argument. Or on the contrary, transition can be done at the beginning, and final sentence will give a brief statement of the main points.
Introduction of expository essay introduces readers into the subject matter, which needs explanation. You can mention why it should be covered, i.e. add information about the importance of this explanation and your motives to carry it out.
The subject matter should be researched from different points of view to create information basis for clear explanation. Try your expository essay on somebody who is not familiar with the subject matter. If he/she understood completely the essence of a concept under consideration after reading, your expository essay is a success. You can also note weak points in your explanation and improve it.
