Writing acceptance essays is an essential requirement, which we go through every now and then in our life. If you are currently studying in a University, it is likely that you already submitted acceptance essays, and maybe more than once.
Many of you might ask what acceptance essays are for. Thinking about it more than once, we came to the following points:
- Each university is interested in gathering the best students, and thus, acceptance essays might provide a glimpse of the minimum skills that the students have.
- Each educational institution wants to be distinguished among others, and thus, they want to eliminate the case, in which students consider a specific institution just as an obligatory stage in their life. Acceptance essays show why the student selected this institution in particular, and how this selection is related to the students’ future plans.
- Acceptance essays help students express the selected specialization in a clear manner. Accordingly, instead of a random choice, the students justify their selection, helping the commission assess the correctness of such selection.
- Acceptance essays can be considered as short interviews. In that regard, universities use acceptance essays, not only as biographical profile, but also as a tool to form the students’ psychological case study.
Following the aforementioned points, we came to the conclusion that other means to reach such objectives will be too expensive and will require more time and efforts. Accordingly, the initial selection through acceptance essays will eliminate unsuitable candidates, while the rest will be given the opportunity for detailed considerations.
Additionally, it should be noted that the latter might not concern all universities, as many educational institution do not give such importance to acceptance essays, considering them merely a formality.
