What should you get ready for when it comes to writing papers on foreign policy? First of all, you should have solid background knowledge, and it refers not only to some current events in foreign policy, but also to some historical issues.

Second, to write a good foreign policy essay, it is important to have own position on various foreign policy-related questions.

Unfortunately, we cannot help you with background knowledge, but we can explain what main steps you need to take to prepare a good foreign policy essay.

Step 1: choose and narrow down a topic

Foreign policy is an extremely broad and complex field. This is why it so important to be careful with the topic of your foreign policy essay and not to hurry when making a choice. We advise you to do the following to decide on a good topic idea:

  • think about very specific aspects in their relations, e.g. trade.

Step 2: develop your standpoint

The purposes of writing foreign policy essays can be different. You may wish just to inform the reader on something, or analyze, or argue. Yet, no matter what, your personal position is what a teacher will appreciate in the foreign policy essay the most.

Essays on “A Doll’s House”: Central Themes to Consider

Posted on: May 21st, 2010

When Henrik Ibsen wrote his “A Doll’s House”, it almost immediately turned into a scandal. In Victorian times, actions of the main heroine of the play were considered just incredible. Women were not supposed to do anything but raise children and take care of their house and family. In his play, Ibsen talks not only about women’s rights, but also about general human rights that people, regardless of their gender, possess.

Although the topic of women’s rights might be not that acute as in Ibsen’s times, we are sure a teacher will be interested in your evaluation of Nora’s final decision in a paper on “A Doll’s House”.

This may be one of the central topics to consider in essays on “A Doll’s House”, but we want to offer you other good ideas for discussion. We have listed several main themes of the play below and questions you can answer in the essay on “A Doll’s House”.

Essays on “A Doll’s House”: gender roles

Roles of men and women in society and family are two of the main themes raised in the play. Men are strong and independent. Women are like dolls, and have no other duties except of keeping their house and bringing up children.

Questions to answer in essays on “A Doll’s House”:

  • What are the main characteristics of men and women roles in the play?
  • Are women really so weak? What hidden powers do they have?
  • Are there moments when men are trapped by their role?

Essays on “A Doll’s House”: marriage

At the beginning, the marriage of Helmer seems to be quite o.k., but in the course of the play we see how it dissolves and finally breaks.

Questions to answer in essays on “A Doll’s House”:

  • Could Helmer’s marriage be saved? Why? Why not?
  • Is equality one of the main keys to a long-lasting marriage?

The Mystery of the Loch Ness Monster Is Absolutely Exposed!

Posted on: May 20th, 2010

Each nation has its own monster or even several monsters. There is only one tiny difference: some of them know that it is only a myth and horror story for kids, but others do believe in those creatures and try to prove their existence.

Where Did It Come From?

One of these monsters is believed to live in Scotland, in Drumnadrochit Lochs, and is named the Loch Ness Monster, or simply Nessie. The peak of interest to this creature was in the middle of the 20th century. It was then when several witnesses said they saw some creature in the lake. Then the famous black-and-white photograph of some unknown creature appeared. Though, later this photograph was examined and proved to be a fake, since it was not a monstrous creature, but a small submarine decorated to resemble Nessie. Finally, in the 21th century scientists proved that there can be no such a creature in Drumnadrochit Lochs.

Now it is high time to consider whether the Loch Ness Monster is a living creature or a myth, like Hydra or Godzilla.

No Evidence at All.

The first and the most significant proof of Nessie’s non-existence is the absolute absence of reliable evidence. No reliable photograph or video was ever made. Moreover, only few people insisted they saw the monster, and it turned out that what they really saw was a tree trunk, or a swimming deer, or some lake plants. No mass witnessing ever occurred, though, a lot of people every year visit the lake to see the Loch Ness Monster. But Nessie doesn’t feel like bathing any more.

No Single Version about Its Shape.

In spite of the fact that the majority of people agree on the fact that the creature is very big (about 20 feet or more), with long neck and small head, with two or more humps, four flipper, and a tail, there are other different versions. For instance, some believe that this creature has no tail or more than one, some think that it has snake head, others insist on the reptile head. Of course, people have not yet decided about the color of the monster.

No Known Specie to Fit.

From the very start of the Loch Ness Monster chase scientists try to define the specie this creature could pertain to. Many of them decided that it could be a kind of Plesiosaur, though, Plesiosaurs (which, by the way, thrived quite long (several millions years) ago) was approximately 10 to 15 feet. But people say Nessie is really large. There existed several other marine dinosaurs which were really large (about 20 feet or more), though, they were the wrong shape. Thus, there is no such specie, at least known one, on our planet.

Does Not Nessie Need Air and Sunshine?

Another point against the fact that the Loch Ness Monster is Plesiosaur, or even exists, is that Plesiosaur was amphibian, which presupposes that it keeps its eggs on the shore. Actually, Plesiosaur is often juxtaposed with turtles. These species like to stay on the shore sunbathing. Thus, Nessie is likely to have such a pleasant custom. Though, no one ever saw it on the shore.

Is Nessie a Survived Dinosaur?

Some people argue that this creature can be a dinosaur which did not thrive with the others. But people used to say about the monster, not the population of monsters. And scientists proved that single individual could not live to our days. Besides, the lake is not so rich in flora and fauna to feed at least one such a large creature, not to mention the whole population.

The Whole Lake Is Not Enough…

Considering the Loch Ness Monster’s dimensions, another disputable point arises. The lake itself is not so big. Being a very large creature presupposes large needs in nutrition and actually living, for Nessie is not a hummingbird it can’t be fed up with single flower nectar. As mentioned above, the lake does not provide the abundance of flora and fauna. Thus, a creature of such dimensions couldn’t simply survive there. Some people argue that Nessie can sometimes go to the sea where it could find a lot of food and place, though, there is no way to the sea.

No Nessie in Drumnadrochit Lochs?
